BD Leatherworks
Hey what's up! My name is Richard (Dick) Morrison. I've been married to my lovely wife for 47 yrs., have two wonderful children and three grandchildren. We've lived in or near St. Charles, Missouri for more than 50 yrs. Back in 1973 I started making belts, wallets, key fobs and other useful items to make some spare coin. When my son joined Boy Scouts I became a Scoutmaster as well as a merit badge counselor, teaching basic leather crafts for 17 years. The years went by and I focused most of my time at my job. My leather tools were packed up and gathering dust on a shelf. Life was busy. My son, Jake Morrison, became a firefighter paramedic. One day he asked if I could make a radio belt and holster/ bucket for him. Since I was retired and had some time, I reacquainted myself with my leather tools. After locating the leather I needed, I purchased additional tools and a sewing machine that could handle stitching through leather, and made my first holster for my son. It turned out pretty nice and I enjoyed using my leather skills again. When Jake wore it on the job, other firefighters and EMS personnel who saw it were impressed with my craftsmanship. I learned they were always searching the internet and social media for leather craft shops capable of making custom accessories, but most shops have a backlog of several weeks or even months. So that's when I decided to keep the tools on the bench and start a small shop. You know that wasn't a bad idea, as it helps pay for all those Bass Tournaments I fish.... at 70 yrs old every little bit helps!
Thank you for checking out my website and I hope you will trust me to create something useful and beautiful just for you. In the meantime, stay safe out there and thank you for your service!
